On behalf of the city of Zlin, Governor Radim Holiš personally thanked the employees of HP TRONIC, who assisted the Regional Hygiene Office in Zlín from 14 October to 8 November with tracing the contacts of people infected with coronavirus. The gifts were handed over at the HP TRONIC headquarters in Obchodní Dům Zlín directly in one of the conference halls, which had previously been set aside for the work of the call center.

Not every volunteer could attend the meeting, but those who did, could not hide their sincere joy: “It´s a beautiful gesture and we were very pleased with the invitation of Governor Holiš. We are also proud of how the management of our company reacted to the situation. As soon as the hygiene office needed it, the management informed us about the possibility of contact tracing. They trained us and people from the management volunteered as well,” said Michaela Kopecká, who works in the reservations department.

It was a challenging but also enriching experience, which is evident from the words of Michalea Kopecká: “We were surprised by how many people had fear and anxiety. It was important to be emphatic and listen to those, who were on the other side of the phone. It was important to calm them down and explain everything with patience. A few times we even called a person who was already in the intensive care unit.”

HP TRONIC not only assisted in the contact tracing, but also lent ten computers free of charge to the Regional Hygiene Office in Zlín, which were needed for further expansion of the telephone network.

„We were asked to co-operate by the hygiene office, and we considered it to be absolutely natural to help in such an emergency. Almost immediately, thanks to the willingness of our co-workers, we managed to create a group of forty volunteers, who took turns in contact tracing by twelve people per day. These were employees not only from the call centers of our DATART sales network, but also other volunteers across the company, who have necessary communication skills, such as employees of the Valachy Resort reservation department or from middle and higher management of the company. Telephone tracking took place in our company’s headquarters in Obchodní Dům Zlín, where we set aside our conference rooms especially for this purpose,” added Daniel Večeřa, CEO of the HP TRONIC group.
